My favourite alltime shot, the pure joy of surfing by Bob McTavish at Point Cartwright in his prime, he was and is a flashy surfer fun to work and surf with.

D fin 3 stringers and Bills beauitiful glassing

Posted by Tiki at 3:37 PM No comments:

Father and son, Billy and Jimmy Mclean, glassing at Mctavish,a rare shot to have them side by side, this would annoy the crap out of all glassers, but because of circumstances they both adapted and got on with it.

Paul made this for a customer in 1976, you couldn't get stringers like that unless you did them yourself, the owner walked in with it a few months ago and sold it to Paul what he paid for it brand new $150, it's in beautiful condition, a testament to how good Paul made his boards and always has, its 6'7"

In Australia after 40 plus years of shaping and making surfboards , the final product is a board that not only looks good but is that magic carpet beneath your feet ,that is,it goes. One of these old bugga's is Billy Tolhurst, his surfing spoke of his shapes and the curves and foils are a wonder to look at. This is an 8 footer T band triple stringer, passion and patience and years of hard earned skill, which isn't learn't off a computer Bloody Beautiful Billy
