Finally

I finally got into the wooden ship and after many lonnnng hours and not much surfing she's finally nearing completion. 9'5" x 23 3/4"wide x2 3/4" thick there are pearl and wood veneer inlays and some coloured resin from the old glassing room of Roy Meisels Bare Nature at Byron Bay from 1972,the fin is a combination fibreglass and bamboo all hand made and fully foiled just like the board It is my first wooden board and wont be the last ,it was bliss to work with and every stage of it an adventure and test of your skills .shape wise it came out beautiful ,but even with all the chambering she still has a fair bit of weight but most paulonia boards do carry a bit of weight . I'm taking her up to the Wooden surfboard expo at Currumbin on the 7th August .at the same time catch up with ol' amigos ,and I'll have some photos and tales to tell from the surfboard bandits that go to these meets, ,,,,,,,,,Wood is beautiful!
